and this is what we saw.......

empty, except houses ..and nobody..I dont know, maybe in my mind i was expecting to see all the asian people walking around( like china town..) haha..only when we aske dthe information counter:> we have to walk further down the road for 10 minutes..

so, we walked n walked..atlast..we saw the building..1st impression, big, but rather empty, is a weekend , but dint see lots of people..

after we enter the building, there are few shops here n there, and i feel like i was backed home, is like some old shopping mall that was no longer popular but is still open..haha..

and then we saw tis big food court!!selling all the asian food, from chicken rice, to roti prata..but mostly are thai shop, after scanning around, i decided to have tis thai fried rice noodle..got lots of choice, and the food seems very nice..and after u place the order, they will give u a number, then u will sit round like u are waiting to ssee doctor in the polyclinic, your number will appear on the panel n u go collect ur food..fun:> if u din appear for sometimes they will ring the table bell manually till u appear..haha, maybe they should take name nxt time..:" miss wong yh, please coem to counter 4 please.." hahaaa

thats my sea food with rice noodle n mango juice, noodle GBP6.50, mango juice GBP3

Then my sis order some funny noodle with egg plant, ok only la:> GBP5.50

Then I saw this roti stall, their prata looks really nice, also they sell teh tarik at GBP1/ cup..

lots of asian around, can hear people talking in malay everywhere..

just after the food court is the super market..quite spacious..

and they got fresh seafood department, ming u , the big lobster shown was still alive n moving when i took this picture k:>

well, all in all the super market sell lots of stuff, i wont say is good though, cos there IS NO CENTURY EGG!!!!!!!!! @%^*&*(*()waste my precious time..
after the super market, we just walk around the mall for little while, then we went out from the other entrance, n we saw this puji puji satay stall..weather nice or not i dun know la, 6 sticks of satay ayam cost GBD4.50..i wont bother event though u tell me is the best satay in uk..:>

and we leave the place at 3 pm..will i go again? maybe...place is ok, but too far from where i live, things are more expensive than china town, and not as much thing as there too..( remember? the dun sell century egg:-|)
But i must say the food is nice:> maybe will be back for the food:>

you know you are a nurse

* got this email from Yean, funny:>*

Did you hear about the nurse who died and went straight to hell? It
took her two weeks to realize she wasn't at work!

You may be a nurse if.....

-You believe that every patient needs TLC... Temazepam, Lorazepam and
Chlorpromazine.

-You would like to meet the inventor of the nurse buzzer system some night
in a dark alley.

-You believe not all patients are annoying, some are unconscious.

-Your sense of humor gets more warped each year.

-Your kids get their presents in TED stockings and NHS pillowcases. And
their presents are wrapped with Micropore tape.

-You know the phone number of every late night food delivery place by
heart.

-Almost everything can seem funny .. eventually.

-When asked by the doctor what color that patient's diarrhoea was, you show
them your shoes.

-If they missed your shoes, you use the well-known "poo curry colour
scale" ranging from chicken korma to spinach vindaloo.

-You can identify different causes of diarrhoea by the smell of it.

-Every time you walk you make a jingling noise because of all the keys,
scissors and clamps in your pocket.

-You can tell the pharmacist more about the medication they are dispensing
than they know.

-You use bladder lavage bags to drip water onto your plants when you're on
holiday.

-You refuse to watch Casualty because its too much like the real thing and
it triggers flashbacks or...

-Your family refuse to let you watch Casualty because you spend the whole
time correcting everyone and
pointing out upside down X-rays.

- You avoid answering the phone on your day off to in case anyone from
the hospital is trying to call and beg you to work.

-You've been telling stories in a restaurant and made someone at another
table throw up.

-You notice that you are using even more 4 letter words than you did before
you started nursing.

-You've seriously considered catheterising your children before a long car
journey.

-Every time someone asks you for a pen you can find at least 4 of them on
you. Most of them have the names of laxatives
on them.

-You don't get excited about blood; unless it's your own.

-You live by the motto "to be right is only half the battle, to convince the
doctor is more difficult"

-You've basted your Christmas turkey with a 50ml syringe.

-You've told a confused patient that your name was that of your co-worker
and to shout if they need help.

-Eating crisps out of a clean sick-bowl is perfectly normal.

-Your bladder can expand to the size of a Winnebago's water tank.

-When checking the level of a patient's orientation you aren't sure of the
day yourself. Or if nightshift, the month.

- You find yourself checking out other customers' veins in supermarket
queues.

-You can sleep soundly at the hospital cafeteria table on your dinner break
and are not be embarrassed when you wake up

-You avoid unhealthy looking people in the shopping centre for fear that
they will drop near you and you'll have to do CPR on your day off.

-You throw a farewell buffet for a co-worker and use a bed sheet for a
tablecloth and bedpans to hold the nachos.
You often stay awake for 24+ hrs at a time when you work nights and
realise you don't need alcohol or drugs to hullucinate just lack of
sleep...

-You pull over in a ayby after working nights because you are too tired to
drive home and wake up to someone knocking
on your window thinking you've had a stroke because you're passed out in
your car drooling.

- Your finger has gone into places you never thought possible.

-You've seen more penises than any prostitute.

-You've sworn to have "Do Not Resuscitate" tattooed on your chest. Soon.
If you are not a nurse and have been sent this by a friend who is, it's
just to help you understand our mindset and questionable mental state!
hey guys, i have not update my blog for so long:> been busy, at what?
dun know really, been working lots..nothing much has been happening, only thing is wati is backed from holiday, ( that was quite sometimes ago, hehe..)hmm, what else? oh ya, Homer is leaving the ward to California...all the best, we had a leaving party sometimes ago, will upload the photoes nxt week..and something to look forward for..the ward christmas party!!! will be held on 13/12:> sure will have fun..

Another working weekend...two more days..

I had a nicely confuse patient today, sometimes i just get so amused by them..haha..u nv know what they gonna say and think..the hostess asked him

" what would you like to have for ur breakfat?"

" what?"

"breakfast.."

"what is that?"

"do you want conflake or tea?"

"oh...that...hohohooooo...conflake please.."* looks amused and laughing on his own*

hahaha...

then here come a physiotherapist to help him to stand up and do some excersice, at the end of the session, the physio holding him standing at the edge of the chair and say

"feel the back of your knee at the chair, and place ur bottom backwards.."

*patient still standing tall and trying hard to bend forward \so that his bottom will point backwards*

"no no..sir, put ur bottom down.."

patient looked side way towards him and asked innocently

" you mean you want me to sit down?"

"ya..i din say that just now, din I?"

huahuaaaaaa..is just hilarious..afterall he is not that confuse, he still can catch the meaning behind all those fansyful words..hahaaa...

And then anoher old patient decided to show his affection towards me..he looked at me with his kind misty eye and say

" i like you, you are a nicey little thing.."

"oh..thank you.."* blush*

then he added

"like a small nice little mice.."

huahuaaaaaaa..all of us just burst out laughing...

I am taking it as my compliment ok..i was just glad that he din say rat...hahaaaaaaa..dont you love old people..they are stars..treat them well ok:>

another long long day...same old ill patient..asked for a change in the afternoon, glad i did it :> feel so relax for the rest of the evening:>

just a thought, if u been nasty or disrespect to some one/ some people before, and when you are very ill, u have to depend on those people to take care of you..how does it feel? hmm..imagine some one been nasty to you and disrespect you, and u have to put all ur efford in to care for them when they are ill..well..we will still do it..with all our heart n soul..we are the professional:> but just cant help guessing, how would that feel..maybe next time we have to think twice before we pass some disrespect judgement on others..

anyway, dont have to wake up early tomorrow:> working late:> really no joke have to wake up at 6am during winter time..almost impossible..

hope those ill patients will be better, stop suffering and moved on..god bless..

Saturday, November 18, 2006

Another unexpected long day..same old story, dun know what the hell is happening, every time on long day i will end up dead busy ...again super ill patient, still trying really hard to maintain the status, well, same old question of quality of life vs quatity of life...what are they trying to proof? is there point of doing anything while they know the result will be the same at the end of the day? or maybe not, u don try u wont know..what ever...but if i am that old i would rather go with dignity..( pls, only when i am that old ok, other wise pls try really hard on me!!!! haha)
anyway. glad that the shift has ended, extra money is so attractive:> and i am really desperate, cos year end sale coming..huahuaaaaaaa..
And thank you for all the helping hands..cant do it without u guys:> another good experience for me, look at the rate that is going, i can gain 5 years experience in one year..hahaaaaaa..i wish!!
cheers
good night..

Camden town

Not long ago i went to Camden town with my sister, been there only once and that was long long ago when we just arrived to london, and almost every weekend me n wati was looking for a place to visit, camden town was one of it, more like a market town, full of tourists and punks..well, can see from the stuff they are selling, nothing really normal like u and me will wear, well, maybe, who knows one day i want day i want to join the Goth too, haha.... but i find it really interesting, different from other market and shopping place, and we even went further in to places that me and wati din go last time..worth visiting...

walk along the main street and it will lead u to a river, and there was lots of stalls and shops on the both side of the river

The shops are full of characters, Dr mart is one of the fav brand around, and the design of the boots is fantastic:>

super heavy metal

welcome to the dark side!!

The council preserved some part of the town and make it into shopping place, lots of small little stall in the building, remind me one of the thailand market..lots of asian selling things here too, also there is a vintage and second hand section, what else, my fav:>

Guess the only diff is English is very good in interior design..

Thats would be the last place that i expect to see such a nice chandelier

THE WHITE CLIFF COUNTRY

I got a few days off, and we decided to go to Dover with my sister, my main aim of the trip, is to climb the white cliff, it was a fine day, no rain:> i figured this might be the last of our outdoor trip for the season, as winter is coming, weather getting colder and days get shorter, oh yeah, is getting dark really early nows aday..anyway, we woke up at 640am, get ready, reached Victoria station at 830 am and reached dover around 11am, we went to the tourist information office, our initial plan is to take the hop on and off bus, and hope that it will bring us to the cliff and same time can go round the town and look around, but the guy told us the bus company stopped operating..gasp!! sad, nobody bother to visit dover anymore? hope is just becouse of winter..anyway, we were there on monday, no tourist at all, infact most of the time there were only two of us on the cliff, i loved it, and the best thing is we feel completely at ease on our own:>

anyway, we walked from the tourist office to the seaside, water is not that clear, what do I expect:> is a sea port:> oh ya, forgot to mention, Dover is the nearest seaport that can bring you to france, think is only take about an hour to get to the other side, cool huh:> as long as you got your passport, you can just buy a ticket and hop on to the ferry:>Infact is so close that when we were on the cliff, our phone actually switched to autoroaming mode, we were using french net work at times:>reminds me of when i was in JB and i got singapore net work service..ahh..home!!

So, we walked along the seaside, and as we get closer to the cliff, the view just get better:>
Can you guys see the building on the cliff, thats belong s to the dover castle, think is some secret escape tunnel and underground hospital during the war time.Houses At dover are very nice too..the guy told us we have to walk uphill like 40-50 minutes to reach the top of the cliff, and there will be a visitor center and a cafeteria, then we can walk to the st magerates village , which is another 1-2hours away, well, sounds like a great plan to us, we prepeared our lunch and make a full flask of hot tea:> Today is pure walking and picnic day:>

At last, after almost one hour walking , we reached the visitor centre..nice.. but thats not the end of our trip, we are going to continue to walk..

The Dover castle, is at the other side of the cliff, looks good from our side, but we had done too many castle, so we decided to skip it..

So, we continue to walk, wind is really strong, but the view is great too, there are not much plants and trees on the cliff, just plain..but there are farms around, dont know what they grow..we did come across few locals walking on the hill, but mostly we were on our own..and we can hear the announcement from the busy sea port:>

The wind is so strong, all the trees on the cliff only grow in one direction..cool:>

Is nice when you see the cliff from a nearer distance, but i dare not go too near the cliff given the wind is so strong, might just blow me off the cliff, haha.. my sister say most of the time the wind is pushing her forward, so she dun really feel that tired. hahaha...bluff..

Then suddenly out of no way, there is this pony standing there..we were so excited, haha..the pony looks friendly, it was shown on the leaflet that there will be some exmoor pony on top of the cliff, guess thats the one..

this pony must be really lonely on the cliff all by itself.. maybe it belongs to some farm nearby..

The closest shot that i can get on the cliff..is a beautiful place..
healing..

After like 1 hour plus walking, we reached the light house, stop for a while, we continued our journey , to the bay and then make it to the village, well, we thought the bay might have a nice view, but not really, the place is so quiet, so we have to climb again uphill to make our way to the village bus stop:<

thats where the village is, village on the white cliff, how nice is that:>

so, atlast after almost 4 hours long walk in total, we arrived the this nice peaceful village at 3pm, cathch a bus back to dover, hit the train ant 415pm, reach london at 6pm..wonderful day..

Today woke up with muscle ache,ahh..age catching up..hm..kilimanjaro..funny my sis say she feel ok, well, must be the wind then..haha
