THE WHITE CLIFF COUNTRY

I got a few days off, and we decided to go to Dover with my sister, my main aim of the trip, is to climb the white cliff, it was a fine day, no rain:> i figured this might be the last of our outdoor trip for the season, as winter is coming, weather getting colder and days get shorter, oh yeah, is getting dark really early nows aday..anyway, we woke up at 640am, get ready, reached Victoria station at 830 am and reached dover around 11am, we went to the tourist information office, our initial plan is to take the hop on and off bus, and hope that it will bring us to the cliff and same time can go round the town and look around, but the guy told us the bus company stopped operating..gasp!! sad, nobody bother to visit dover anymore? hope is just becouse of winter..anyway, we were there on monday, no tourist at all, infact most of the time there were only two of us on the cliff, i loved it, and the best thing is we feel completely at ease on our own:>

anyway, we walked from the tourist office to the seaside, water is not that clear, what do I expect:> is a sea port:> oh ya, forgot to mention, Dover is the nearest seaport that can bring you to france, think is only take about an hour to get to the other side, cool huh:> as long as you got your passport, you can just buy a ticket and hop on to the ferry:>Infact is so close that when we were on the cliff, our phone actually switched to autoroaming mode, we were using french net work at times:>reminds me of when i was in JB and i got singapore net work service..ahh..home!!

So, we walked along the seaside, and as we get closer to the cliff, the view just get better:>
Can you guys see the building on the cliff, thats belong s to the dover castle, think is some secret escape tunnel and underground hospital during the war time.Houses At dover are very nice too..the guy told us we have to walk uphill like 40-50 minutes to reach the top of the cliff, and there will be a visitor center and a cafeteria, then we can walk to the st magerates village , which is another 1-2hours away, well, sounds like a great plan to us, we prepeared our lunch and make a full flask of hot tea:> Today is pure walking and picnic day:>

At last, after almost one hour walking , we reached the visitor centre..nice.. but thats not the end of our trip, we are going to continue to walk..

The Dover castle, is at the other side of the cliff, looks good from our side, but we had done too many castle, so we decided to skip it..

So, we continue to walk, wind is really strong, but the view is great too, there are not much plants and trees on the cliff, just plain..but there are farms around, dont know what they grow..we did come across few locals walking on the hill, but mostly we were on our own..and we can hear the announcement from the busy sea port:>

The wind is so strong, all the trees on the cliff only grow in one direction..cool:>

Is nice when you see the cliff from a nearer distance, but i dare not go too near the cliff given the wind is so strong, might just blow me off the cliff, haha.. my sister say most of the time the wind is pushing her forward, so she dun really feel that tired. hahaha...bluff..

Then suddenly out of no way, there is this pony standing there..we were so excited, haha..the pony looks friendly, it was shown on the leaflet that there will be some exmoor pony on top of the cliff, guess thats the one..

this pony must be really lonely on the cliff all by itself.. maybe it belongs to some farm nearby..

The closest shot that i can get on the cliff..is a beautiful place..
healing..

After like 1 hour plus walking, we reached the light house, stop for a while, we continued our journey , to the bay and then make it to the village, well, we thought the bay might have a nice view, but not really, the place is so quiet, so we have to climb again uphill to make our way to the village bus stop:<

thats where the village is, village on the white cliff, how nice is that:>

so, atlast after almost 4 hours long walk in total, we arrived the this nice peaceful village at 3pm, cathch a bus back to dover, hit the train ant 415pm, reach london at 6pm..wonderful day..

Today woke up with muscle ache,ahh..age catching up..hm..kilimanjaro..funny my sis say she feel ok, well, must be the wind then..haha

squirrel's food

Evening time after send wati off home, we decided to do some chest nut hunting at Ravenscourt Park, I was told by carol that there are few chest nut trees in the park, so we reached there before dark, park were filled with kids and family, not too difficult to find where the trees are, lots of squirels and all those spiky fruits under the trees:>
I guess we miss the peak season, cos there was really nothing much, only one tree that was still fruit hangging on..is very funny, the feeling is like waiting for durian to drop from the tree, cos, the fruit normally will burst on the tree,, and the nuts just fell on the ground..and u can hear it sometimes..fun..and some times we have to look in to those dry leaves, where u can find even more of it..and the amazing thing is, those crap that i heard from tv, that squirrels know how to hide their nuts, is true!!!!my sis actually digged some of those really big and round one from the ground!!haha..i was remembering the news about squirrel turn violent and attack human, why??becouse human steal their food!!!!huahuaaaa..

thats how it looks like..chest nut fruit..( i dun know how they call it:>)

What we stole from the squirrels:>

One fruit only got one big nut, the rest are just thin and nuts looking thing..:>

So, how do we cook it?
well, we washed, boiled in the water for ten - fifteen minutes, is just like egg, those rotten on will float, and the good solid one will sink in to the bottom..
oh ya!! we got to cut a slit at the side of the nut too..

After that, we drained the water, and put it in the hot oven for another ten minutes.

All done!! Very tasty, especially those big one, really sweet and powderly!!ofcos we cant finish all, so we will keep some , maybe can use it to cook chicken tomorrow:>
I hope it is not poisonous..if u guys din see me update any blog anymore? check on me please, maybe is those nuts..hahaaa
well, hope wati will have a pleasant flight back home.. miss u already babe..

Yesterday when me and my sister was walking on the street, standing at the traffic light before the broadway, suddenly, there is this friendly asian looking face came over and tap on shyuan's shoulder:

" hello, how are you? where do you come from?"

oh no....dun tell me this is what i think it is...

"hi, we are from malaysia"

" really? I am from north korea..my friend over there insist that you are from my country, haha.."

turned around, there was this friendly looking european guy smiling at us..

" ya..we looks all the same:>"

"ya, is like we look at european they all look the same to us:>"

"ya.."

*i continue to look at the traffic light and start hoping it will turn green faster..*

" By the way we are having bible study across the street, would you like to join us?"

oh...exactly what i thought it is ..

"oh, no, thank you.."

"are you interested?"

"err, is ok, we are non-christian.."

"oh, really? what is your religeon?"

secretly, i has been thinking very hard, how am i going to answer the multi million question even before she ask that..have to be a good one..

"we are muslim.."

"really? ya, i heard malaysia is a muslim country. but not all of you are muslim.."

"ya, but we are.."

her friend started to show interest..

" so, do you believe in GOD?"

" ya, i believe in my GOD:>"

traffic light turn green..hooray, lets cross the road..

" may be you wanna read this, it will tell you all about god, and help you to understand more about god.."

"ok, thank you.."

just wondring, which part of "we are muslim " that they dont understand?

Dont get me wrong, i got lots of christian and muslim friends, and they are all beautiful people..
I even attended church services and bible study when i was in singapore..Is just that I get put off when people approach me on the street and try to stuff things down my throat, even they know that you are not interested...
But again, aunty janet has been asking me to join the bible study group in london that she found on the web site ..maybe is just me, still haven got the massage..
I ran out of toilet paper again...is unbelievable how fast we use toilet paper...it was like i just bought almost ten rolls one month ago, and now is all gone????whats going on? Ok, i admit that i have this bloody habit, if the toilet paper is nice and soft, i will used it more than usual, as in maybe instead os three blocks i will use four la..then there was this day, i was sharing with my sister about my fetish with good soft toilet paper...then she was like: "really? ok ah..i used seven blocks each time leh!! " Then look at me with her innocent face...huh???what?? I looked at her and both of us bursted out laughing..I dont know how true is it, she always got this kind of funny sense for joke and humour...but then, properly thats the reason why my toilet paper is running out so fast...hmmm..may be i should start to ration it, only three blocks allowed for each business..or only buy cheapo kind..let me think about it..
Sunday we had a gathering at our friend Shamila house.. Whats the event? well, is just a last minutes gathering that we decided to have:> Ash came to fetch us all and then we went to shamila's house, we then just sit around and chit chat and watching tv and drinks..
Shamila cooked lots of food including rice and chicken curry-really good Shami:> I have not eat such a spicy food for a long time:> We din really do much but was a nice evening, I felt much like home where we just sit and relax and enjoy each other company:> Should have more gathering like that:>Oh ya, i took a really good video, where i will try to upload:>
